Prof Alejandro C. Frery, a distinguished lecturer of the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society, and the current Vice Rector for Research of the Universidade Federal de Alagoas (Brazil) is coming to visit the laboratory in early March (March 6 to 9). Thanks to the support by ERASMUS Overseas, he will be able to teach a short course on "Statistical analysis of SAR images", in line with his recently transmitted webinar.

On 9th January, the local newspaper "La Provincia Pavese" has published an article reporting the accession of the Telecommunication and Remote Sensing Lab to the "FabSpace 2.0" network. This latter is a network of laboratories committed to open innovation based on geospatial and space data in the context of Universities 2.0; a one-stop shop-access to space-related data as well as free software and processing tools to develop new digital applications. The article (in Italian) can be read at: http://laprovinciapavese.gelocal.it/tempo-libero/2018/01/09/news/tecnologie-e-lavoro-1.16332247?ref=search

Prof. Gamba paid a visit to Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Israel in last December, and had a plenary talk in the Israeli Geographer Association Annual meeting. The event was sponsored by the IEEE Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society.

The lectures of the meeting (including the two by Prof, Gamba) are available at http://in.bgu.ac.il/en/epif/Pages/events/IGA-2017-Conference0108-8107.aspx
