Giovanna Trianni was born in Gallipoli on 22nd April 1976.

In December 2007 she received her Ph.D. in Electronics, Computer Science and Electrical Engineering at the University of Pavia.

During the Winter Quarter 2007 she has been a visiting researcher at John A. Blume Earthquake Engineering Center, Stanford University, Stanford, California.

She is currently working at EC JRC, IPSC, in the Isferea action.
